I want to start by expressing my appreciation for all our clients, friends and partners for standing and sticking with us for the past year. Also a great thank you to my family and and every one who allowed my to be their business, financial, and life coach and mentor. It was a roller coaster ride of gigantic proportions. We had a number of ups and downs, but fortunately, the smooth sailing always returns, and most of all, we had fun.

The following of this newsletter has grown, and so did the business. We are reaching for the 3500 mark and counting.  We still have a couple of hurdles to cross, but they will make us stronger and tougher to survive future storms. If we look at companies who survived for decades, they have a couple of common denominators that made them successful:

1. They made decisions that no one else was willing to make, even though they were hard to make at the time.
2. They honoured people that came before them and realised that there will be others after them.
3. They maintain a standard of business ethics that was above the rest.
4. They treated their staff as truly the most valuable asset of the business, and realised that they are not just another replaceable commodity.

We can think of a number of other qualities, but I think they had leaders, willing to sacrifice themselves for the greater good of the company and its employees. They ensured that their staff was looked after first before they took any money from the business for themselves. Today it seems to be the opposite in the business world. where large international companies have disappeared, and even companies who was suppose to ensure that directors and business owners follow the law.
 
Who do we fool, if we think we are doing good, but yet we do not full fill the basics of statutory requirements. There are so many people who runs businesses not registered or  not paying their basic dues. Now I know that most of you do not fall in that category. If you Honour God and the Government that was appointed over you, give God was is due to God and give Ceaser what is due to Ceaser, God will honour you.

We want to make some changes in the new year to the newsletter. We would value your ideas. Some of the ideas that we have is:

1. Shorten the newsletter format, so that you do not have to do a lot of scrolling, with that mouse. It is easier to click than to scroll.
2. We want to add more free stuff on our website, that would assist you, your family, staff and your company.
3. We want to offer you new ideas, services and products that you and your company can not do without.
4. Share with you some great wellness ideas that will assist you to keep your employees healthy and productive.
5. You will be able to follow us on Facebook and other media.

We are very excited about the new year. We have new Pension and Provident Fund Products for SMME's that is affordable and cost effective. We have introduced the OcsaCare product to you this year. Many companies made the leap to provide for their staff. For you I want to say, good for you, your staff salutes you. May your company and the people who helps to build it, be there for a long long time.

Helping a Discouraged or Traumatised Employee

When employees are discouraged or traumatised, they can be cancerous to the workplace. As their own production goes down, they often attempt to contaminate others around them. Discouraged and traumatised employees can be easily identified.

When you observe the signs, you should discover the source of the employee’s dissatisfaction or trauma and then find a customized a solution to the employee's situation. While the best approach is to prevent your employees from getting discouraged or traumatised in the first place, the same skills can be used to provide the treatment. Prevention is better than cure.
