It is great to talk to you again. We have started the year with an enormous pace. The newsletter subscribers have grown, and so did the business. We have broken the 5200 mark for our subscribers, which is great.  I have to appoligise for the delay since our last communication, but we have experienced technical difficulties, but that is now resolved.
There are a couple of events which will have a significant impact on the way companies will be allowed to do business in the future as well as the way new business will be registred.

The main events for the following weeks are:

1.  25 March 2011 - Launch of the new Companies and Intellectual Property Commission
2. 31 March 2011 -  Implementation of the New Consumer Protection Act
3. 01 April 2011 - Implementation of the new Companies Act (No April fools joke)

1st of April sees the introduction of the new Companies Act and the 31 March 2011 the introduction of the rest of the new Consumer Protection Act. This will mean the end of Close Corporation registrations. If you have not yet reserved a name for a cc registration, you are to late.

The same with the restoration of your Close Corporation, if it was finally deregistered by CIPRO due to none compliance with submitting annual returns. You are currently liable for all the costs and liabilities of your company, and is currently running a non entity. You could loose your business's name if you have been de-registered. This means some-one else could reserve the name and use it for their company. Please ensure that your company have not been de-registered.

If you are currently a Sole Proprietor, and you are using a "Trading As - T/A" name, you will not be allowed to do this after the 31 March 2011 implementation of the new Consumer Protection Act. You will have to register your "T/A - Trading As" name with CIPRO in order to verify that it will not be in conflict with the current registered entities on the CIPRO database.  You will also have to conduct business in your full personal name untill your Trading As name have been registered.

Helping a Discouraged or Traumatised Employee

When employees are discouraged or traumatised, they can be cancerous to the workplace. As their own production goes down, they often attempt to contaminate others around them. Discouraged and traumatised employees can be easily identified.

When you observe the signs, you should discover the source of the employee’s dissatisfaction or trauma and then find a customized a solution to the employee's situation. While the best approach is to prevent your employees from getting discouraged or traumatised in the first place, the same skills can be used to provide the treatment. Prevention is better than cure.
